Are Your Emails Being Delivered To The Inbox?
The big question is; how can you make sure that your emails are placed in your subscriber’s inbox and not in their junk mail? It is essential to make sure that your intended recipient is actually receiving your emails. A key strength to keeping your clients interested is to make sure the communication between your newsletters and your clients is always open.
Here are some tips on how you can achieve that:
- Send Consistently - Make sure that the subscribers you are sending to are expecting your newsletters and remember why they subscribed to your mailing list. Send your emails consistently so that users within your mailing list begin to expect your email.
- Send to Opt-In Only- Avoid sending emails to people that have not signed up to your mailing list as it is often illegal but also can have huge effects on delivery of your next sends due to those people reporting you as spam. If you get a lot of spam complaints then you may even get your email blocked completely, so send to your opt-in list only. We provide facilities to do this such as subscription forms were you can have a double opt-in, this will email the new subscriber and ask them to sign up again to make sure that they intended to do so.
- Remove Hard Bounced Email Addresses – Remove all hard bounced email addresses from your mailing list as they will be shown as being retired or wrong spelling of the email addresses. Your GraphicMail account will automatically prevent you from sending to email addresses that are noted as Hard Bounced however you may also want to remove them from your mailing list completely. Soft bounces are not an issue as they are often returned because an inbox is too full, so please give it time for your emails to get through to their inbox. You can view the bounced emails in the Reports & Statistic section of your GraphicMail account.
- Ask Subscribers To Add You As A Trusted Sender - Ask your subscribers to add the email address you are sending from as a contact in their email address book. That will let their email client know that you are a trusted sender which will help to ensure your emails are placed into their inbox.
- Use Clean HTML - Try to use simple and clean HTML code in your newsletters; you could also use one of our free readymade templates within your account so you know the code behind has been developed professionally. Well structured HTML code for your newsletter will help to prevent any spam filters being suspicious about your email.
- Check Your Spam Score – Before sending you should always check your spam score by clicking on the “Check SPAM score” next to the send button. This will give you a spam score rating, try to get your score as close to 0.0 as possible. To keep your rating low, try not to use key words that could be associated with spam in your subject line and keep capital letters to a minimum.
Finally, remember that the biggest stop to subscribers reading your emails is the subscribers themselves. They have the power to delete your emails without reading them so it is important that the emails are expected, enticing and relevant.
