There are so many Social Network sites out there it can be hard to understand which ones can help your business. To help you make the most of them we have listed the ones we believe you should be using.
Facebook - I am sure you will already be using Facebook to keep in contact with your friends but some of you may not have a Facebook Business Fan page yet. By having a fan page you can instantly ask your friends and customers to like it and by doing so it will appear on their Facebook page so their friends can also see it. Before you know it you will have an huge group of Facebook fans who want to keep up-to-date with your company news, products and offers.
Within your GraphicMail account you can easily create a subscription form and add it to an app on your Fan page so your fans can signup to receive your emails. But don’t stop there, as many people will want an incentive for liking your Fan page a great way to provide this is by using the apps much like our White Paper app. You can make things exclusive to your Facebook Fans so others can't gain access to them until they join in and become a Fan. You may want to include freebies, discounts, or anything else that might persuade the users to hit that like button.
Twitter – Twitter allows you to quickly provide information to your followers however as you only have 140 characters to play around with you need to keep it short and to the point. A huge benefit with using Twitter is that it allows you to easily favourite or retweet other peoples posts, this means you can continually provide relevant information to your followers. Also as your own tweets can be re-tweeted it means your audience can reach much more than just those following you. Due to this it's important to remember to make sure your tweets are easy to understand and have clear Calls to Action.
Although twitter is a great way to communicate with your follows, it can act as a 24 hour public support line so it is best to keep your followers up-to-date with any issues you are having that will impact them and of course reply to any tweets that have been sent to you.
Pinterest – Pinterest is another fast growing site that shouldn't be missed as it provides you with a vast audience and allows you to express your company through the use of images. You can create different boards which will have images pinned to them so your followers can look at them and if they like the images you have used they can re-pin them to their own boards. This means it will reach people outside your followers and of course each image being pinned will link back to your website (most likely a page to purchase the product).
Each Pinterest post will allow you to provide a title, description, image and a URL to link back to your web page. Some examples of companies using Pinterest effectively can be seen by Sony and Glamour as they make great use of their boards.
Pinterest can also be linked into the emails you are sending out by adding a “pin it” button for your images. Once clicked, it will then allow Pinterest users to pin the images from your email onto their own boards. If you would like to know how to do that just click here.
Blog – You can generate a lot of website traffic by having an active blog and it can be a great resource for those interested in your company. Some examples of blogs you may want to post could include information about your company, products or just offers. We suggest you create a free blog using www.blogger.com as that will not only allow you to post blogs, but it will also allow readers to add comments and provide you with statistics about how many people have viewed your blogs so you can see which ones were most popular.
Giving You A Helping Hand
Hootsuite – You can use this free program to manage your Social networking accounts such as Facebook and Twitter. It will also allow you to shrink the URL’s used for your webpages or blog posts and allow you can track how many people click on that link. To try it for free just click here
Images - All of the above social networking websites have their own specific dimensions for profile pictures and background images. To make sure you create your images to the correct sizes we suggest you click here.
Linking To Email Marketing – Within your GraphicMail account you can use the “Social Share” option to share your emails on Facebook and Twitter, to find out more just click here.
Subscription Forms - As stated above you can create subscription forms so you can collect information from your followers. If you would like to know how to put the forms on your Facebook page then just click here.
