Make A Good First Impression

When dealing with images it is very important to make sure you have backup data as most email clients such as Gmail, Hotmail, Outlook, MSN, Yahoo, have images disabled by default. This means that if your recipient doesn’t click on the “Click here to download images” then your image rich email is not seen. The last thing you want is for your email to end up in the recipient’s inbox looking like the email below:

As you can see if the recipient doesn’t click on “download images” then sometimes they see nothing. As the recipient cannot see anything it is very likely that they will dismiss the email by deleting it or just moving to another one. To make sure you don’t fall into the same trap you should always use “Alt tags” as they will be shown if your images aren’t displayed. You can use Alt tags to provide a description of what your images look like which will then allow you to get your point across without them being downloaded. Also by using Alt tags the recipient immediately understands that they will need to click the "download images" link to view them.

Within your GraphicMail account you can easily add the Alt tags to make sure this scenario doesn't happen to you. However we also allow you to embed your images when sending your email, the benefit to this is that your images will immediately display without the need to click any links. This means that you can have no worries that your image rich email is being delivered as you fully intended. If you are sending an email that uses images to get your main point across or you are using numerous images for your entire email (as shown above) then it is vital that you either use Alt tags or embed your images.

By using Alt tags or embedding images you can make sure your recipients know they need to click on the “click here to download images”. If you embed the images then the recipient can sit back and wait for the images to load. Please note it is also advisable that your images are not too big because the time it takes to load your email can equally put your recipients off.
