How to measure my email campaigns with Google Analytics

When developing marketing campaigns it is important to measure your activity in order to be able to follow up your performance as it might produce an increase in sales or even increase brand reputation. Sometimes it is difficult to measure intangible actions however; nowadays we have countless features available that can help to do so.
One of the most common tools to measure your online performance is Google Analytics, a free online service that will provide you with detailed statistics about your website traffic and sources. With this online tool you can track the number of visitors your website receives from all referrers such as search engines and social networks.
But not only can it do this! Google Analytics also provides you with information about your email marketing campaigns!
With GraphicMail you can integrate your Google Analytics account to track your newsletters. It is as simple as one click! You just have to enable Google Analytics tracking within your GraphicMail account to automatically track the links in the email marketing campaigns that you send out.
If after reading this article you would like to start using this feature to track your campaigns follow these steps:
• Check that you already have a Google Analytics account. If not you can sign up for a free account in the following link.
• Enable Google Analytics in your GraphicMail account. You can do this while you work in the “Advanced Mail” section of your account, under “Setup & Options” and “General Settings”. Tick the box “enable Google Analytics” to start tracking your URLS.
Please note: if you are already using the Google tool to monitor your site, this will also track visitors that originated from email sent via your account.
• Set up your email links. After enabling Google Analytics on a given link, the tracking code will be applied to that link automatically.
• Set up your goals. Doing this is essential so that you can see the conversions in the data provided. You will be able to see goal conversions based on the information passed through us to the analytic system. If you need more information about “how to set up goals” click the link to learn more.
• The report. Google Analytics reports will provide you with all the data available such as visits, average time spend in the page, page views and bounce rate among others.
